With podcasting gaining its popularity, I get this question a lot – What are the best laptops for podcasting?

I always try to give them a couple of options, but most of them end up using their old laptop to start a podcast. Which is absolutely okay given that they have other “best” things to start a podcast.

But if you want to make a serious career out of your podcast, or you have gained some listeners, you should consider buying a laptop that serves the purpose of DAW (Digital Audio Workstation).

DAW is nothing but you editing software.

While buying a laptop for podcasting, you should be extra careful because finding a gem isn’t easy.

But you don’t have to worry as I’ve listed down the 4 best laptops for podcasting as in 2020. I’ve used most of these laptops myself and have come up with this list after hours of research.

This one goes without saying that Apple has the best range of laptops for almost anyone. Whether you’re a tech-savvy, coding geek, or a creator or a granny in Nebraska Apple works for all.

The configuration of Macbook Pro justifies the pricing. It is loved by the creators. If you want to become a podcasting Ninja, Macbook Pro would be my top recommendation.

The latest model has Ninth-generation 6-Core Intel Core i7 Processor (You can imagine the speed of this) and the touch bar above the keyboard would make your life a lot easier.

You get 512 GB SSD Storage with AMD Radeon Pro 5300M Graphics and 16 GB RAM. The best part about this laptop is battery backup. It could last for 3 hours if you heavily edit your files and when you use it normally, it will give 10 hours of backup.

If you want extra storage and a more robust laptop for editing, Macbook Pro has a higher version with 1TB Storage and Ninth-generation 8-Core Intel Core i9 Processor. But the higher version would cost you around $300-$350 extra.

The thing I don’t like about Macbook Pro is, it only supports USB Type C ports. So you would have to buy an extra connector.

But you can forgive that part because of the awesome configuration which makes this one the best laptop for podcasting.

Key Highlights:2.6GHz 9th Gen 6-core Intel i7 processor, 16GB of built-in RAM (expandable up to 64GB), 512GB of SSD storage, 3-hour battery backup (for intense recording and editing), Radeon Pro 5300M graphics card
Pros:Super High-speed processor, expandable RAM, SSD storage, awesome battery life
Cons:Expensive, Connects with only USB Type-C ports

The coolest feature is its versatility. You can use it as a tablet or as a laptop within a few seconds. It’s highly portable. So if you travel a lot, you should definitely choose this one.

The battery life is around 13.5 hours even if you watch movies the whole day. Unlike, Macbook Pro, it has USB 3.0 which would make your life easier.

Key Highlights:Intel Core 8th Gen i5 or i7, 12.3” PixelSense Display, Laptop, Tablet, Studio, 8GB or 16GB RAM, SSD 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB, Up to 13.5 hours of video playback

Conclusion

Obviously there are many options to choose from. I also know that I’ve listed a lot lesser number but I wanted my recommendations to be honest. Hence, I’ve only listed the laptops that I’ve used.
